Dr. W Marc Boyd Jr has been in the Peoria area practicing Ob/Gyn for twenty years. He completed his Obstetrics & Gynecology training at the University of Illinois in 1993. Dr. Boyd obtained his Obstetrics & Gynecology board certification in 1996. As well as his private practice, he has been an active educator since completing his residency training. Dr. Boyd is a clinical assistant professor and Attending Physician for the University Of Illinois School Of Medicine at Peoria. He is active in the training of both Ob/Gyn and Family Practice residents at Methodist Medical Center and OSF St Francis Medical Center.
Dr Boyd is an innovator. He hired Peoria’s first Midwife, Dana Humes-Goff. His practice uses a pyramid approach to patient care, with mid-level nurse practitioners seeing many of the routine and low risk medical care issues common to women. As the active Medical Director for women’s services at Methodist Medical Center, he helped create and now directs a model Interdisciplinary group which directs policy and management decisions for women’s health care.
Dr Boyd has also been at the forefront of developing and driving minimally invasive gynecological surgery. He is an expert in DaVinci Robotic surgery, performing over 200 robotic cases per year.
Dr. Boyd has also been an advocate for women’s nutrition and weight loss management. He has dedicated his practice to the complete care wellness of women.
Dr. Boyd’s hobbies include studying God’s word, traveling, biking, snowboarding, and spending time with family and friends. Dr Boyd has been blessed with a beautiful wife and partner, five children, and one grandchild.
